Spring isn’t over yet and the summer festivals are announced. Last year I visited the Aalsmeer Flower Festival for the first time (see my photo review) and I was pleasantly surprised by this festival.
Hortus Bulborum and the Limmer Flower days
The end of April / the beginning of May is well known for all kind of flower activities in the Netherlands. Upcoming weekend it is the celebration of the Limmer Flower days with the Hortus Bulborum, the living museum with beautiful historical bulbs (read the review here) as center point.
Flower update – Week 17
We had a very exciting week in the Netherlands. We had the meet & greet last Friday! It was fun to talk to you all. We had the flower parade on Friday evening and Saturday during the day. More than 1.000.000 people visited this parade! And we went to two flower shows in Belgium. As you can see we are having a busy time!
Beautiful flower gardens Groot-Bijgaarden
From April 6th till May 6th 2016 the Floralia-Brussels flower exhibition can be visited. The Floralia-Brussels is a spring flower exhibition in the park and the greenhouses at the grounds of Castle of Groot-Bijgaarden. This year it will celebrate its 13th anniversary. Visit the beautiful flower gardens Groot-Bijgaarden for an unforgettable flower experience.
Free lecture by American Flower Stylist Ariella Chezar
Friday the 29th of April the famous American stylist flower, flower farmer and writer Ariella Chezar presents het new book in Shopping center Stadshart Amstelveen. She is promoting her new book The Flower Workshop from 19:00 to 20:30 by a short lecture, demonstration and book launch at the Binnenhof part of the shopping center.
Tulip Route Dronten with Izi Travel App
Some times we come across a lovely new app for tulip lovers. The new Tulip festival in Dronten has developed several routes along the flower fields and made a wonderful app based on GPS position where you can hear interesting information along the route.

What a wonderful weekend! We had a lovely Meet & Greet on Friday afternoon at the tourist office of Noordwijkerhout. And yesterday we had the flower parade! Amazing Flower Art at Floralies 2016
From 22 April through 1 May 2016, the city of Ghent in Belgium will be in bloom and entirely devoted to the 2016 Floralies (also known als Floralien). For ten days long, four iconic locations will form the backdrop for the loveliest creations.
Golden Age flourishes at Keukenhof 2016
The 67th edition of Keukenhof is officially opened in the presence of the Girl with a Pearl Earring. In 2016 the theme is “The Golden Age”; the period during which the world was being discovered and trade flourished.
Flower update – Week 16
After a lovely weekend waking up between the tulip fields at Landal Beach Resort Ooghduyne, (what a lovely place!) I am back home in preparation for a visit to Floralien in Gent (Belgium) and the flower parade this weekend.
