This event celebrates the start of the tulip season in the Netherlands. From this day you will find many different tulips at flower shops around the Netherlands. This doesn’t mean that you can see tulips in the fields. Tulips for the vase are generally grown in indoor greenhouses. Tulips in the fields are generally used for the bulbs. These bulbs will be exported all around the world during autumn.

Are you celebrating National Tulip Day in Amsterdam? If you do, please come over to say Hi. I will be walking around this event making lots of tulip photos. You can recognize me by my blue tulips in Holland jacket. Bring warm clothes, hat, scarf and mittens, it might be a very cold day!
