Museum de Zwarte Tulp
Have you ever been to the Museum De Zwarte Tulp (Black Tulip museum)? It is located on just 15 min. walk from the main entrance of Keukenhof. Due to renovation the museum was closed for a year and has now reopened its doors again. Last Friday I went to see this lovely museum.
The museum De Zwarte Tulp is located in the town center of Lisse. The museum gives a overview of the history of the tulip and the importance of the tulip in the bollenstreek. You can easily park your car on the parking lot outside. And when you walk towards the museum you walk through a small garden. During springtime this is full with different kind of tulips.
Inside you are welcomed in a large entrance with lockers for your bags. New this year – the tourist information is located inside the museum. Perfect if you want to have information about the flower area. Another new feature is the café for a cup of coffee and tea. A great location to browse the information brochures of the area.

After the entrance, café and gift shop full of flower and tulip gifts you enter the museum part.
Downstairs you can find beautiful old drawings, hyacinths glasses and paintings.
Upstairs you can find more information about the history of the tulip and see lots of old tools they used to work with.
Downstairs again was a lovely temporary exhibit of the photographer Bas Meeuws and artist Linda Nieuwstad.
