When do you plant tulips?
The last couple of week I got the same question several times by mail. Perfect for a blogpost for the question: When do you plant tulips?
The time to plant tulips differs a bit where you live in the world. Tulips for your garden are always planted in autumn. When you live in an area where the temperature drops below freezing temperature, you need to plant your bulbs before the time it starts freezing. Most of the times this is in the months October and November in Europe and the United States of America.
When you live in an area where the temperature doesn’t go below freezing temperature put your tulip bulbs in the fridge for about 6-8 weeks. Keep them away from fruits, they emit gas that could destroy your tulip bulbs. After the cooling time you can plant them right away.
