It is time for the second flower field update of this season. Last week was beautiful with lots of sunshine. Temperature is around the 15 degrees, no wind, it feels like a lovely 20 degrees Celsius in the sunshine. Perfect weather for outdoor activities.
No signs of hyacinths and tulip fields yet, but the daffodils are turning to bloom. The crocus fields are still there but are almost gone. (Don’t worry lots of crocus can still be found in the Keukenhof)
The Keukenhof has opened its doors last Wednesday. The theme for this year is “Germany: Land of Poets and Philosophers. The flowers in the Keukenhof are displayed outside and indoors. Outside you can find lots of crocus, daffodils, some early tulips, anemone, etc. Indoors lots of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, amaryllis, muscari, orchids are blooming. Close to the windmill you can find the view to a flower field full with daffodils.
Lots of new art is displayed in the park as well and a special tribute is made to the German Trabant (full with flowers)
If you are travelling next week be aware that a lot of flowerbeds are still green or nearly empty. (see the photo’s) It will take a couple of weeks to see these flowerbeds full with flowers in bloom. But with the flowers in full bloom indoors and the first views of the flower fields the Keukenhof is definitely worth a visit.
