It was busy this afternoon in the Keukenhof. The special activity today was a bird of prey show on the grass between the animal farm and the windmill. Lots of children (and adults too) were enjoying this show.
The Keukenhof get more and more color every day.-The weather is a bit cooler than the weeks before.ย That makes me hopeful that we can enjoy the flowers a little bit longer. So if you are travelling this weekend or next week, please dress in layers (and bring your umbrella just in case!)
The indoor tulip exhibition gets a lot of visitors. The first tulips are cut already but plenty of tulips to see. Outside the flower beds in the Keukenhof are getting more color too. The hyacinths are blossoming and their scent is recognizable from far. The crocuses outside are fading away but the muscari and the tulips are taking their place. Still a lot of green but it is very nice to walk around. Travellers who visit this weekend wonโt be disappointed, I guess. ๐

Not only the Keukenhof is getting more visitors the roads around are getting busier due to the traffic of Keukenhof as well. Big busses from Amsterdam are driving along the flower fields and stop at the little road shops filled with fresh flowers and bulbs. The hyacinths and tulip fields are looking very nice and colorful.
Tripadvisor member Cees makes very nice photos of the flower fields too. Have a look at his pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/117794954613548281731/FlowerFieldsAndKeukenhof2012
Some tips for Easter time visitors
Be early and take your time! Easter time is one of the busiest weekends. Roads can get congested after 10 /11 am so please be early. Cars and busses travel on the same roads, so this applies also people travelling by public transport. Inside Keukenhof there will be a bird of prey show (until Sunday) and on Easter Monday there will be a Easter hat Parade โ you can bring your own hat! ๐
Bicycle ride through the flower fields
If you are planning to make a bicycle trip, rent your bike immediately when you arrive at Keukenhof. On busy weekend the bicycles are rented out around noon and there will be a waiting line for over an hour. So rent the bike (price is for the day!), take them to the bicycle parking place (make a photo of your bike so you know which one is yours) lock them and keep the key close to you.
