After a week with nice weather I took my bike to ride through the flower fields this morning. And I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of flower fields in bloom. It is a bit of a strange blooming this year. Due to the cold winter and the late springtime the blooming of the flower is mixed. At this point you can see hyacinths, daffodils and tulips in bloom at the same time. And a lot of fields are not even in bloom yet so it looks like we will have some blooming in the next weeks as well.
For the people renting a bike please look up in google maps the streets as Zwarte laan, Loosterweg noord and Loosterweg zuid, Achterweg Zuid and Essenlaan. A perfect bike ride through the fields. 🙂 (Don’t forget to bring your camera !)
Inside Keukenhof it was very busy this morning. It is Parade Weekend and it was nice weather so a lot of people decided to visit Keukenhof. Inside it is still a mixture of flowers in bloom and greens (lots of green!) It is very nice to see that the cherry blossom is in bloom as well. It is worth a visit when you are traveling this week but if possible please plan your visit at the end of your stay. The Keukenhof is getting more beautiful every day (and a nice warm and sunny day can make a difference in blooming) The indoor tulip exhibition is almost gone, luckily outside the exhibition halls a lot of tulips are starting to bloom.

Will it be worth to visit Keukenhof next week?
Yes and make sure you rent a bike (or walk around) the flower fields as well. It is an absolute plus on the Keukenhof experience. But please plan your visit to the Keukenhof to the end of your stay, as the Keukenhof is getting more colorful every day.
For all people with the question: Will the tulips / flowers bloom at date X ?
We don’t know. As far as I can predict we will have spring flowers on the fields for the next 2 -3 weeks. When you travel second week of May there might be some flowers on the fields left (due to the late spring) third week of May and after 20 probably no flowers in the fields. Keukenhof is getting more beautiful every day. Looking around this morning we are nothing near its peak yet. Probably first or second week of May blooming at Keukenhof will be at its peak.
