Current status of the flowers – 2nd May 2017
The temperatures are getting from very cold to back to normal. It is a perfect time to visit now. Lots of different bulb farmers have started with the heading of the tulips. This makes the bulb stronger and they will bloom even more beautiful in your garden next spring time. But it is a terrible sight to see the flowers flying around. When you click on the photo you can see how it is done. I expect this week most fields will be gone.
Luckily there is much to see at the keukenhof. It is still peak blooming so every where you look you can see gorgeous colors and lots of different fragrances. Upcoming weekend they celebrate the food festival with lots of different food trucks and in the pavilions you can see the gorgeous orchid show and there are Chrysanthemum and Calla shows as well.
I have visited the other tulip areas as well this weekend. There are still a lot of fields visible in the tip of North Holland but they start with the heading today. Don’t wait too long if you want to see them.

Flowers after May 21st 2017
The past week I get numerous questions about the tulips after the 21st of May. Unfortunately after the Keukenhof is closed all the tulips are gone as well. The flowers in the fields are headed now and the garden is closed after the 21st. To only option to see tulips is to visit during spring 2018. During the summer months there are a lot of different flower festivals as well like the Flower Festival in Aalsmeer on 17 and 18th of June with gorgeous roses or one of the summer flower parades during August and September. Keep an eye to our website for more information.
