How to travel to Keukenhof from Amsterdam
There are several ways to travel to Keukenhof from Amsterdam. You can travel by organized tour to the Keukenhof but it is very easy to travel to the Keukenhof yourself by public transportation.
From Amsterdam there are two ways to travel. What the easiest way is depends where in Amsterdam your hotel is located (or where you are starting from in Amsterdam).
- When you are located close to the Amsterdam Central Station – follow option A;
- When you are located close to the Amsterdam Leidseplein – follow option B;
- When you are located elsewhere just pick the nearest location from the two options above.
Both steps include traveling to Schiphol Airport first and transfer to the Keukenhof Express bus.
Option A – from Central Station
When you are located close to the Amsterdam Central Station the easiest way is to travel by train to Schiphol Airport. Within 15 min. of travel you arrive from the Central Station at the train station of Schiphol Airport. Follow the signs to the bus platform outside and locate the colorful Keukenhof Express Buses. The bus takes you in 20 -30 min. to the Keukenhof and stops right outside the main entrance of Keukenhof. When you have visited Keukenhof you travel with the bus back to the Airport and take the train to Amsterdam Central Station.
Option B – from Amsterdam Leidseplein
When you are located close to the Amsterdam Leidseplein the easiest way is to travel by bus 197 to Schiphol Airport. It takes around xx min. and you will be on the bus platform of Schiphol Airport. Locate the colorful Keukenhof Express Buses. The bus takes you in 20 -30 min. to the Keukenhof and stops right outside the main entrance of Keukenhof. When you have visited Keukenhof you travel with the bus back to the Airport and take the bus back to the Amsterdam Leidseplein area.

You can buy separate tickets for train, bus and entrance but there are some combination tickets available.
Regular tickets:
- Price return train ticket Amsterdam Central – Schiphol (option A): € 9,-
- Price return Bus 197 ticket Amsterdam Leidseplein – Schiphol (option B): € 7,50-
- Price return Bus 858 ticket Schiphol – Keukenhof: € 11,-
- Price entrance of Keukenhof: €16,-

Price combination ticket for option A is €27,- (*price 2017) – includes:
- Return bus 858 Schiphol – Keukenhof
- Entrance ticket to Keukenhof
- (You have to buy your own train ticket! a € 9,- if you are traveling by train from Amsterdam central station)
Price combination ticket option B is €32,50 (*price 2017) – includes:
- Return Bus 197 ticket Amsterdam Leidseplein – Schiphol Airport
- Return bus 858 Schiphol – Keukenhof
- Entrance ticket to Keukenhof

Regional day ticket
During springtime 2016 the Regional Day ticket covered the travel bus bus 197 to Schiphol and the express bus 858 to the Keukenhof. With this ticket you have unlimited use to public transportation for 24 hours and you only need an entree ticket to Keukenhof.
