First flower field with daffodils
The first flower field of 2016 is visible! A beautiful small field of daffodils along the road in the town of Lisse, very close to the Keukenhof.
We have a very mild winter temperatures and the early spring flowers are growing fast. In the next few weeks we will see more daffodils in the flower fields.
I just had a quick look to my photos of 2015 to find the first fields of last year. I made a large collection of daffodils photos at the 14th of March 2015. Don’t jump to the conclusion too quickly that nature is three weeks ahead of last year. This is a solitair field for now. As soon there are multiple fields up we can draw any conclusions for the daffodils. (And for tulips in the flower fields it is still way too early)

I’m coming to the Netherlands for the week of March 27. Where should I go? I’ll be in Amsterdam until April 4 and would love to see great big fields of flowers.
Thank you!
Susann
Hi Susann! The easiest area to see flowers in the field is the area around Keukenhof Garden. It is very easy reachable by public transportation. If you sign up for the weekly newsletter you will receive a map with information where the fields are. (around mid to end March) You can walk around but it is possible to bike around the area as well. Kind regards, Nienke
Hi Nienke
I am in Amsterdam between 6 and 11 April and I am planning to visit the fields on the 8th , 9th and 10th.I would be staying in Rotterdam as I heard there are more fields in Leiden and Haarlem , could you please suggest some fields that I could visit , I would also be visiting keukenhof during these days, appreciate your help
Thanks
Pradeep
At this moment I don’t know which fields will be in bloom at the beginning of April. It depends on the weather in the next few weeks. The fields rotate every year. Around the Keukenhof area there are many flower fields. You can rent a bike at the entrance of Keukenhof and bike around the fields. Keep an eye to our newsletter for more information. Nienke
We will be visiting Keukenhof Garden by the end of April and hoping the tulips will still be there during that time….
I am looking forward to a visit on your opening day, March 24th. I will be driving down with my daughters in a rental car. What will be blooming then? Thank you so much for updates – I am very excited to come visit you gardens.
At the end of March you generally find daffodils and hyacinths in the fields. For Tulips it will be too early. At Keukenhof you can watch the indoor Tulip Exhibition. Enjoy your Holiday! Nienke
Is it possible to have latest flower updates? The last post was on 19 Feb 2016 i.e. three weeks ago. We are planning a trip to Keukenhof. The updates will help us decide a suitable date for the visit.
The latest update was send last Tuesday, next update this week on Tuesday the 15th. Have a look in your spam box to see if it is there.

Also any suggestions for the dates between 16, 23 or 30 April considering we can see most of the garden and mainly tulip flower fields in full bloom. Thank you so much for updates in advance.
Great blog and thanks so much for the weekly updates!
Just wondering what the situation for 2016 is like? It sounds like an early year, but have you seen any other blooms since your last update? I’m planning on visiting the first week of April and just wondering if that would be a good time?
Thanks again!
Every day is a perfect time to visit the Netherlands. At this moment the daffodils are starting to bloom and no sign yet of hyacinths (for tulips it is still too early). The weather is slowly starting to get warmer. Based on experience in previous years at this point we are still expecting the first tulip fields in bloom around the second week of april – peak blooming later than that.
