Flower update – Week 15
The temperature is getting warmer every week! We had a couple of sunny days with lovely temperatures and some days with some rain. Perfect weather for springtime! The Keukenhof and the flower fields are getting more colorful. The daffodils and hyacinths are in bloom at Keukenhof and outside you can see that more and more tulips are starting to bloom. The azaleas and rhododendrons are slightly starting to bloom as well.
Outside the first daffodils are starting to fade away. They were the first to bloom and you can see the color getting less. The Hyacinths are getting to peak blooming and the tulips in the fields are getting more in bloom. Look like we have a colorful bloemencorso flower parade in two weeks
What to expect for next week
The indoor tulip festival is at peak blooming now. If you want to see it please travel quick other wise it will be gone. Outside near the windmill you have lots of colorful tulips in bloom and also the inspiration gardens look lovely.
This weekend will be the flower market weekend at Keukenhof where you can buy your summer bulbs. Please be aware that it isn’t the season for buying spring flower bulbs like tulip bulbs, daffodils and hyacinths.
The bulb that are one sale now are old bulbs, read more about tulip bulb scams here. You can order your bulbs now at an official bulb seller and they will deliver the bulbs in autumn to your home.
Are you visiting keukenhof this year? Buy your tickets in advance to skip the cashiers line and head straight to the entrance of Keukenhof.
Bloemencorso
In two weeks the bloemencorso or flower parade takes place. Have a look at this blogpost for more information.
Wishing you all a lovely week full of flowers! And for the people traveling to the Netherlands enjoy your holiday!
Kind regards from Tulips in Holland,
