Flower update – Week 14
We had a lovely weekend with unexpected warm temperatures above the 18 degrees C! You can almost hear the flowers grow and getting in bloom!
One of the tulip fields behind Keukenhof (at the windmill side) is in bloom. When you sit on the terrace of the greenhouse you will have a perfect view for a coffee break!
In the region more and more flower fields are in bloom. It is a colorful sight when you drive or bike around the area. You can see the flower fields from far and especially the fragrance of the hyacinth fields is amazing!
The tulips at the Willem alexander pavilion are in full bloom. Outside in Keukenhof you can see lots of crocus, daffodils and the tulips and hyacinths are starting to bloom as well.
What to expect for next week
The temperature dropped down again around the 10 – 12 degrees C. When you are visiting in the next week make sure you bring a waterproof jacket and a umbrella. Dress in layers (bring a hat!) if you are from a warm climate, it still feels a bit on the cold side.
This weather is perfect for the flowers. For the blooming I expect more hyacinth fields in bloom. They are so rich in color and fragrance make sure you see them on your way to the Keukenhof.
I expect to see more tulip fields in bloom. For the people who are visiting later this month don’t worry, a lot of tulips (in the fields and at Keukenhof) are still growing and not ready to bloom. Keep an eye to this update and the weather (during warm weather the flower grow faster) for blooming updates later in April.
Are you visiting keukenhof this year? Buy your tickets in advance to skip the cashiers line and head straight to the entrance of Keukenhof.
Amsterdam Tulp Festival
Are you visiting Amsterdam in April? And do you love tulips? Make sure you see the tulips in Amsterdam as well. On a lot of different locations in Amsterdam you can find beautiful tulips in pots, in gardens and in the public space.
Read more about this festival and other tulip information on the blog.
Wishing you all a lovely week full of flowers! And for the people traveling to the Netherlands enjoy your holiday!
Kind regards from Tulips in Holland,
Nienke
