Flower parade Bloemencorso
As mentioned before the flower parade will drive from Noordwijk to Haarlem on Saturday the 22nd of April. We have a lot of tips for visiting this parade on our blog. The most important ones are: make it an all day event when you are combining the flower parade and Keukenhof on one day. There will be long traffic jams from early in the morning and they won’t be gone before 7 PM in the evening. Please arrive before 9 AM in the morning, the traffic jams are not that large around that time. After 9:30 AM this will get bigger, last years there were traffic jams up to 2 hours from the nearest high ways (only 10 KM/ 6.2 miles away) Locals move only by bike or walking on this day.
When you arrive early you will have plenty of time to explore Keukenhof and the nearby flower fields. In the town center of Lisse (less than 15 min. on foot from the main entrance of Keukenhof) you will find the flower parade market. The parade will drive by around 3 PM. After the parade many people try to leave immediately but a slow moving parade, road closures and a huge crowd is a recipe for a logistic chaos until 6 or 7 PM. (Be aware that busses won’t run on time on this day)
Best way is to relax, visit Keukenhof after the parade again (make sure your hand is stamped when you leave the first time!) and have dinner in the lovely town of Lisse. After 7 PM there will be business as usual and you can drive around very easily. It is one of the most crowded days but it is a fun day as well. More tips? See our website.
